I love playing outdoor sports though all things considered I’m not much of a jock. The great thing about outdoors sports is that while enjoying a small dose of friendly competition, you can enjoy the boons nature bestow upon us as well as getting some good exercise. It’s a great way of spending quality time taking all things into account. To me going to the gym, workout on treadmills is a waste of time although a number of my friends opt for them. I could never understand the logic of spending time walking while watching a TV when you can play outdoor sports and have a fun time enjoying nature.

Provided that the weather is right, its great that you can play almost any sports outdoors. In summer, you can play soccer, baseball, basketball and most of the sports you can come up with outdoors. However most people give up on outdoor sports during the rainy and cold seasons. It’s a big mistake in my opinion since there are lots of sports suitable for snow, freezing cold and rain that you can indulge in. In the snow you can go cross-country skiing, dirt bike racing in the mud are few examples. Almost all year round you can play outdoor sports if you just use your imagination.

Number of gears that are required is the only drawback of outdoors sports. The high expenses of these gears give the advantage to the gyms. You get exercise machines, sports equipment, a swimming pool and court where you can play some sports in your typical gyms. But you have to furnish yourself all of the supplies when you go to play sports outdoors. Most people cannot afford many of the outdoors sports or are reluctant to invest money required on those they can.

I think that everyone should try out in their life at least one outdoor adventure sport. But adventure sports are not for everyone. Some people don’t like getting scared so they opt for subtle options like jogging or basketball. But it’s worthy having that adrenaline rush once in your life. When you are scared out of your mind, you will feel most alive.

Studying the environment and landscape around you is the best way to get into outdoor adventure sports. Mountain biking is one of the easiest adventure sports. A mountain is there almost in all areas. If not you might have a river near by for kayaking or a Para gliding company nearby where you can join.

Keeping it simple is a good advice. Many sports don’t require almost anything like football where you need only a ball and to mark the boundaries of the end zone, some cones. A field with soccer goalposts is only additionally required to play soccer. Nothing but a field and a piece of cloth is all that is required to play something like capture the flag. If you let your imagination run wild, possibilities are endless.
